Cell phones usually come in two kinds: black or silver. Mass-produced with no personality, they’re intended for anyone. But in today’s world, why would anyone want something that boring? The cheap ones tend to be flimsy plastic, maybe a phone-shaped batch of plastic jewels held together by clear plastic, meant to be used as a sticker. As for the cheap plastic covers, they tend to be more limited in color and style, and usually are only produced for the most popular phones. Like all cheap plastic, they break easily, and can even be broken if you have to take the back off to get at the battery case. In the short run, the advantage is that they’re cheap to replace. In the long run they’re not practical since they tend to be so flimsy.
Rhinestone Cell Phone Covers
The cheap rhinestone covers are the sticker type mentioned above. Other rhinestone covers can be a more sophisticated variation on the original ideas people had to stick gems on their phones. Whole kits in different colors with different design suggestions, usable on any phone because they need to be stuck on one by one in order to make the patterns. Perfect for those who like to be more creative.
Other rhinestone covers are a harder plastic or perhaps metal with the stones attached. They tend to be designed with women in mind, more along the lines of sparkly than bling.
Bling Cell Phone Covers
The point of bling is to be flashy. The most common theme in these covers is silver and gold or diamond and gold. They’re often available with initials or perhaps a dollar sign, since bling is meant to impress.
Blinged Out Cell Phone Covers
These take bling a step further. They can be flashier if possible, but mostly tend to have one or two word sayings on the cover, something meant to look tough. These tend to be designed more for men, especially men who want to be noticed.
Custom Cell Phone Covers
Much like the others, these are designed to fit over the phone to personalize it, but they differ from the other kinds in that they’re usually just plastic or metal with nothing textured attached, such as the rhinestones or bling. But that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of variety. Custom cases can be any color, any pattern. They can have stripes or spots, animal print, slogans or copyrighted characters. Just about anything you can think of, you can find to decorate your phone. If you have the money, there are even places where you can request a specific design and have something all your own.
